OVERVIEW
The European Network for Women in Leadership (WiL) started in 2008 as an informal network at the initiative of Microsoft, INSEAD and Women’s Forum gathering high level women from EU countries.
In 2010, WiL became a NGO, created under the French 1901 Law of Associations, whose main partners are Microsoft and France Telecom Orange.

Membership
WiL Members are high-level representatives from industry, government, nongovernmental organizations and academia who believe in the advancement of women in the economic and social sphere. They will follow every opportunity of influencing domestic policies, through leveraging gender equality public policies and private initiatives at the EU, national and local levels.
Membership Criteria
Members are invited to join the organization by other members, with the agreement of the Board of directors. Membership status can take one of the following two forms:
- Individual members: women who hold leadership positions in organizations in the private or the public sector and who agree to become members on an individual agreement basis.
- Institutional members: organizations that nominate women holding leadership positions within their structure to serve as their representatives within WiL. These organizations have visibility during our events and in our communications. This category of member comprises not only corporations, but more generally all organizations and institutions, and can include academics representing their institutions.
